Thoughts for 2010

If I used one word to sum up the past year and what we envision of the year to come, it would be “challenging”. The struggling economy and job market has deeply impacted South Mississippi and hit the construction industry hard. Available work is hotly contested as many general contractors and subcontractors from other states are bidding work in South Mississippi.  The economy has affected all of us, on both a personal and global scale.

As always, our nation will pick itself up, dust itself off and move forward.  The people of the Mississippi Gulf Coast are fighters and survivors and will help lead that charge; the past 5 years is a prime example of that fact. We keep the faith, which leads to optimism, and optimism leads to hope. We will pull ourselves out and be better for it.

In business, times like these cause us to appreciate our blessings more than ever. We appreciate our jobs, we appreciate our clients, we appreciate our co-workers, and we appreciate our corporate relationships.  HGM’s loyal clients are the heart and soul of our company, without whom we would not exist.

At H. Gordon Myrick, Inc., we pray that the year ahead will be filled with happiness, promise and opportunity for each of you. It is our hope this struggling economy will turn around and begin to make strides for a full recovery soon.  May God bless us all…..
