This new
state-of-the-art facility is located in the Biloxi Commerce Park. Guild
Hardy Architects strove to exemplify smart growth and environmental stewardship
through innovative design concepts utilized in the design of its new
12,000-square-foot offices, committing to obtaining LEED
certification of its new facility. The LEED (Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System is a design standard for
developing high-performance, sustainable buildings. LEED emphasizes
state-of-the-art strategies for sustainable site development, water savings,
energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.
In order to
achieve LEED certification, a significant commitment on behalf of H. Gordon
Myrick, Inc. was required. This extended from purchasing of building materials high in recycled content, to the management of site issues, indoor air
quality (IAQ), source control practices, and utilization of resources during the
construction process.
